Playdate

Our old neighbors from East Nashville came for a visit yesterday. Libby had a blast despite a few sharing issues (especially among the baby dolls)! I guess that should be expected among three 2 year-olds and a 3 year old! It was so good to see our friends, and Libby had so much fun that she took an almost 3 hour nap after everyone left. Little Lucy slept through most of the visit, but she was still a hit.

Lucy trying out big sissy's princess chair - Libby was not at all happy about this! She made sure that Lucy knew that was "MY PRINCESS CHAIR!!!"

I finally caved and gave Lucy a pacifier! She loved it for about 15 minutes, and now I can't get her to take it anymore! I guess she figured out that it was a hoax!

Postpartum and tired!!!

I discovered today that 3 hours of sleep, postpartum hormones, a constantly hungry 2 week-old, and a 2 year-old that refuses to take a nap are not a good combination!!! I burst into tears as soon as Matt walked in the door from work. Luckily, he knew just how to save the day and took us all out to watch Tennessee Tech's band practice (a favorite pass time of Libby's). A little fresh air was just what we all needed!
Libby managed to make us all laugh marching around in her ballerina slippers (that she had a tantrum over not taking off before we left).
She spent most of the day in her "princess ballerina" costume - so I just had to grab a quick shot! She is so much fun despite being 2!

Visit from Sam and Julie

Uncle Sam and Aunt Julie stopped by for a quick visit yesterday on their way back to Mississippi. We all went out and had lunch. Libby certainly appreciated the extra attention!

Princess panties and Dr's appointments

Lucy had her 2 week Dr's appointment today, and she was perfect - as we already knew! She weighed 6lbs, 14oz - 10oz gain since birth (25th percentile)! Her length was 19 1/2 inches (50th percentile), and head circ 13.4 cm (25th percentile). She's a been eating like crazy!
Things are still going well with big sissy, too! She is sporting her princess panties in her princess chair in the picture above! She also loves to cuddle with "baby Lucy" on the boppy pillow.
My mom left Thursday, and my dad came down. They decided to take turns since the kids all had to stay in VA for school. Dad leaves Sunday and I will offically be on my own. Dad rode his motorcycle down, and Libby has been having fun trying on the helmet.
The daily routine seems to be getting a little easier - as long as I can manage to nap when Libby does!

No time for pictures!

Well... no time for pictures today! Today was Matt's first day back to work, and my first day alone as a mom of 2! It went pretty well, but Libby was very emotional. She broke down at least 3 times into a I want my Daddy tantrum. Lucy was a trooper, and was very laid back most of the day, but Libby could still sense that I was not 100% devoted to her. My mom came in from Virgina to save the day about 3:00 pm, and she is staying until Thursday. What will I do when all of my help leaves for good??? Maybe I will have one of those miracle baby's that starts sleeping through the night at 2 weeks of age - not likely! Anyways - another day down - time for a glass of wine!

Tennessee game day

Libby seemed to have a great time even though the outcome wasn't great for TN today. She really loved her "ponytails." Libby, Daddy, and Uncle Cody went to Memom and Pop's house and I stayed home with Lucy. My friend Jenny came to visit from Atlanta, and we had a relaxing day lying around the house.

My best friend Karen was able to make it up for Lucy's birth, and lucky for us she is a photographer! She took some amazing pics while we were all still in the hosital, so I thought I would post a few! There are more to come!

A new member to our family

Well, I finally decided to jump on the blog wagon and start a blog...we'll see how it goes!

As you all know little Lucy joined our family at 1:16 on September 9th, 2007. She came 2 years, 3 days, and 3 minutes after her big sissy, Libby. The birth was really fast, and somewhat humorous in retrospect since I decided to go 'all natural'. The recovery has been speedy however, so it was all worth it.

Lucy was 3 weeks early, weighing 6lbs 4oz, 19 1/4 inches in length, head circ 13 inches, and absolutely perfect!

We went home 24 hours later, and have been doing great ever since! Matt has taken this week off to help with Libby, and my mom is coming Monday when he goes back to work.

Today we all wanted to get out of the house and enjoy the cooler weather, so we all went to the playground. Libby got a kick out of showing baby Lucy how to go down the slide and swing. It was lots of fun, and both girls were worn out when we got home. I forgot the camera, but I'm sure there will be plenty more opportunities in the future. I will post some pics from the last 4 days with our new little gal!
